Unforgettable

Models, UniqueFaces

It can be a tough road to achieve the success of supermodel status glamour and beauty. With thousands of gorgeous girls around the world, what determines who will be one of the models?

In the world of high fashion a thin waist, sky high height and pretty face are nothing. It’s the average standard, so boring in other words.

Distinct faces are what distinguishes key well known models from the rest. Sure, pretty faces are throughout the many catwalks, but the unique ones are the stand outs and the give a new meaning to “one of a kind.”

Daphne Groeneveld

At the young age of 16 she was discovered in her native Amsterdam. Not too long after she coveted the highly prestige and glamorous fashion magazine, Vogue Paris, alongside Tom Ford. Since then she has walked for everyone from Dior to Versace. With that platinum blonde hair, crooked nose and naturally pouted lips, she is your present day bombshell.

Issa Lish

Born from Mexican and Japanese parents Lish is a newcomer raging up a storm. With a distinct glaze and porcelain white skin she has something  that every designer wants. Her beauty is out of the norm and it’s a good thing.

Lindsey Wixson

Tooth gap, doll-like lips, and piercing green eyes. Wixson is one of the closest persons that resemble a doll, but in the best way. Walking multiple shows, fronting campaigns and being in ads, she’s a pistol. First look is not enough, you’ll do a double taken then realize why the second time was better than the first.

Big ears and mousy like features. The very young  Ms. Bair is all the rave. No one looked like her this season and it’s going to be tough to try to beat her. Many fashion insiders are seeing the splash she made this season and are excited to see what the future seasons have in store for her.

Best of Spring/Summer 2015 – Pt. 3

PFW, SpringSummer2015

The Eiffel Tower, the beach of St. Tropez, and it’s villages, France is one of the most visited places in the world. People dream of one day going and specifically to Paris with its rich culture and everything we see in movies.

But of course, Paris holds multiple fashion shows year round for the many seasons whether they’re ready-to-wear or haute couture. Who can forget the great Coco Chanel or Louis Vuitton? And what impact they made in the world of fashion.

Here are some Parisian collections that made us call out the sun and bring the warm seasons faster than ever before:

Céline

Flared pants, loose and form fitting clothes, and various floral designs. Another collection that had a hint of early sixties/seventies vibes going in full flare. It may sound like a casual collection, and it was, but very sophisticated due to it’s intricate tailoring and overall design; whether it was a pants and shirt plain combo or a mixture of different colored floral designs in asymmetrical cuts. Like in Prada, brooches were statement making pieces to bring the piece all together and to show off the woman’s body.

Lanvin

Ageless. Next to sophistication, that’s what Alber Elbaz made with this collection. The drapes of elegance, silk material, evening dresses, party dresses and coats. What more could you want! Women of all ages graced that runway. It’s fair to say that they might have stole the show alongside the collection of course.

Louis Vuitton

As Nicolas Ghesquiere is still making a debut as the new creative director at LV, he is making strides and great changes to the maison. Marc Jacobs, previous director has been quoted to say he’s happy with what  Ghesquiere is doing. Ruffles, funky designs, flowy mini dresses, coats, blazers and suede boots. From the various colors used, white was reigning as one major colors of the collection. This simple collection was refreshing in the sense of anyone being able to wear it. Form fitting in just the right way.

Best of Spring/Summer 2015 – Pt. 2

MFW, SpringSummer2015

We have arrived at Milano! Known for it’s beautiful architecture and rich history, it is also home to some of the best maisons throughout the world.

Here are some of the mesmerizing collections for the upcoming SS 15 season:

Blumarine

From the teals, pinks, nudes to the green, yellow and white, this collection was a delightful rainbow. Sheer shirts with floral embroidery and equally matching A Line skirts. Beautifully designed dresses from long flowy strapless to sexy shift dresses as well. This collection, like others, just scream sun, beaches, and blue rich skies. The lightly tousled beach hair worked wonders as well which did not take away attention from the real show stopper–the collection.

Prada

In a very dim lighted room had piles of purple sand in the middle of it. The collection started at a black with white trimming look and progressively shifted towards colors and white looks. The entire collection consisted of maculate sheer dark dresses and skirts to its counterpart of the lighter/brighter shades. Miuccia Prada had said that the collection was inspired from the “nineteenth century to the sixties.” Yet it was done so well that any young woman would pine to get the collection. It was feminine, sexy, had inside out seams and was the best collection of old world meets new.

Roberto Cavalli

Dresses are very much “in” in any spring summer collection that we are presented. What makes a collection better is distinguishing those looks from the rest. The first dresses were very colorful and strong with multiple horizontal lines and a mixture of whites with black. Very sexy thin strapped to strapped around the neck with a very revealing back to most. The white lace gown and minis with detailed beading are a must for this upcoming season. These floor length and mini dresses ranged from pleated rainbow of colors to pastel lace. One collection that was so different and diverse within itself and so Cavalli.

Best of Spring/Summer 2015 – Pt. 1

NYFW, SpringSummer2015

As the summer’s sun was beginning to fade on us its continuous rays of heat day after day, the leafs started changing colors. When fall and winter are around the corner, in the world of fashion that means the maisons are already ready to debut their collections for the upcoming seasons: spring and summer.

Here’s a part one of three post that shows the best collections from New York, Milan and Paris.

New York

Diane Von Furstenburg

Known for her iconic wrap dress, this collection brought forth that and many other amazing designs. From the chiffon and silk materials to the blocked printed black-and-white with a mixture of bright summer colors as bubble gum pink, this collection screams spring and summer. It’s light materials and sexy fittings are made for the warm weather and most of all, make women feel confident.

Rodarte

If we were all mermaids or any aquatic species, rest assure that this collection would be what everyone would be wearing. The very detailed pieces and overall look and mixture of many vivid colors reminds one of the ocean and all the life that flourishes in it. It resembled seaweed, plants, tides and how those may look put onto a piece of clothing mixed all at once. This collection can also draw the attention of someone who likes to wear something edgy or that’ll give them a certain flare.

With a slick back pony and light makeup on top of the actual collection, it might remind you of a women who is confident, sexy, sophisticated and values some of the best things in life. Pretty pastels and floral designs made this collection perfect for any spring/summer from here on. The multiple colors of gingham and the thick cotton lace down to the pretty flat sandals, this collection has it. For a man who devoted his life to fashion and presented the best for the world to see, we will truly miss, but never forget what he did in the world of fashion. RIP
